To call it a 'happening' would be an understatement. It was a multi-layered, many-faceted extravaganza for all of Indiana. The Super Bowl may be over, but the rewards of the event are permanently embedded in our state.

On the road to reinventing

On the road to reinventing


Everywhere I go I hear people discussing the need to reinvent themselves. Graduates are turning in textbooks for paychecks. Recently married, widowed or divorced couples are trying to adjust to their new status in life. Senior citizens are trying to figure what to do as retirees wearing hearing aids.

Ah for a winter day

Ah for a winter day


The pond is frozen over this morning. The ground has a soft coating of snow while the sky is a vibrant blue with a golden sunrise on the horizon. The vents from my furnace emit white clouds. It is our first really cold day of this newly found winter. I have started a small fire in the fireplace, not for warmth but for inspiration.

A home for the holidays

A home for the holidays


It is always an awakening to walk into a familiar place with new eyes. That is the holiday gift of visiting guests. And so I had my Christmas shot in the arm when our daughter came visiting with her 'significant other' from the foreign land of Scottsdale, Ariz. We shall address said chap as 'Bryant.'
