Stephen L. Shetter

Stephen Lee Shetter, 77, Corydon, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, in New Albany.

Born Oct. 13, 1945, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Margaret Shetter.

He spent 12-plus years as a volunteer firefighter, worked with Repair Affair of Harrison County, coached Little League baseball, fundraised for the WHAS Crusade for Children, was an elder at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, where he helped run the Loaves and Fishes Food Program, and was a member of the KSONS Train Club and the Louisville Thoroughbreds Quartet.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles (Chuck) Shetter.

Survivors include his wife, Jodi Shetter; five children, Stephen Shetter Jr., Alan Shetter, Sheila Hubert, Melissa Stone and Amy Trautwein; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 15, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Center – Scott Chapel in Jeffersonville and Monday, Jan. 16, after noon at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Jeffersonville.

The funeral will be Monday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. at the church with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
