Jean Marie Slider
On Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, Jean Marie Crosby Slider passed away peacefully at the age of 90 at Harrison Springs in Corydon, Ind.
She was born July 18, 1932, to Janet and John Crosby.
Jean was a loving wife to her late husband, John Slider. They married in March of 1951 and soon raised a family of five children together in Southern Indiana. Jean loved being a mother; however, when she wasn’t spending time with her family, she was a teacher’s aide at Georgetown Elementary. Later in life, Jean could be found spending her free time with her loved ones. She valued both her faith and family and never missed an opportunity to spread her joy of life to those around her.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Bob) Slider, and his spouse Marsha, Ronald (Ron) Slider, and his partner Sue Kerber, Kathie Slider Harrell, and her spouse Jim, Michael (Mike) Slider, and his spouse Jenifer, and Anthony Jay (AJ) Slider, and his partner Jeff Lingard. She also is survived by her wonderful sister, Jo Crosby West. She was a caring grandmother to seven grandchildren: Casey Slider, Tommy Harrell, and his spouse Brittini, Sean Harrell, and his spouse Megan, Jamie Harrell Ott, and her spouse James, April Slider, Mason Slider and Aidan Slider. In addition, she was so proud of her nine great-grandchildren: Addie Harrell, Kensley Ott, Emma Harrell, Keeley Ott, Mckeon Harrell, Maverick Harrell, Maddox Ott, Killian Harrell and Anakin Harrell.
Jean will be honored at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Ind., on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, with a viewing from 2 to 6 p.m. There will be a funeral service held at 6 p.m. with private burial in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
