Luther M. Kemp

Luther Morton Kemp, 72, Taswell, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.

Born Oct. 21, 1950, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Jacob and Etta May Jennings Kemp.

He was a retired medic with the Jefferson Special Police, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Clark County Police Lodge No. 131, both in Jeffersonville, and the Indiana Sheriff’s Association and was of the Baptist faith.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Edward Kemp, and three sisters, Ruth Ann Rochner, Mary Ellen Kemp and Marsha Irene Kemp.

Survivors include six sons; five daughters; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, James Henry Kemp Sr. of Taswell, Kenneth Wayne Kemp of Arkansas and Dennis Lee Kemp of Beechwood; and a sister, Anna Thevenot of Corydon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Highfill Chapel Cemetery near Taswell.
