Donald L. Roberts Sr.

Donald Lee Roberts Sr., 88, of Marengo, Ind., passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd hospital in New Albany, Ind.

Donald was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Ethyl, Ind., to Bailey and Pearl Riley Roberts.

His wife of 68 years, Kay Ann Satterfield, survives. They were married on April 30, 1954.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George L. and Charles Roberts; and sisters, Juanita Zehr, Betty Heitz and Ruth Ann Sanders.

Donald was a 1953 graduate of Paoli High School, and employers included Olinger Construction, Crawford County Community School Corp. and Lincoln Hills Development Corp. A lifelong Democrat and proud 65-year Mason, Donald was a master mechanic and a competitive race car driver.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Padgett of Corydon, Ind., and sons, Keith Roberts (Carol) of Holland, Ind., Donald Roberts Jr. of Pensacola, Fla., and Michael Roberts of Jeffersonville, Ind. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A private graveside and interment will be held at McDonald Chapel Cemetery at a later date.

Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Ind., is entrusted with the arrangements.
