Edmund Rainbolt


Edmund Rainbolt, 101, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at The Willows Assisted Living in Corydon.
He was born Nov. 23, 1921, in Corydon, Ind., the son of Maurice and Etna Byerley Rainbolt.
He worked as an electrophotographer at Naval Ordnance in Louisville, Ky., was a World War II Army veteran, earning the Bronze Star medal and two Purple Heart medals, and he was a member of the Old State Capitol Post 2950 of VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bessie M. Smith Rainbolt; sisters, Wilma Rainbolt and Marjorie Holst; and a brother, Robert Rainbolt.
He is survived by his daughter, Connie Miller (Joe) of Corydon, and a sister, Beatrice Dean of Scottsburg, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. The Rev. Randy Miles will officiate. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. There will be military rites at the grave.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, and from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
