•I have read each week in the paper about the basketball teams and the other  problems with the schools. I am calling about my own issue at our school. I’ve called the school, the transportation director and they all seem to be ignoring me. It seems like Corydon and all their schools have caution lights that work each day. When I drop my student off at the elementary school at South Central and go to Corydon each day, I have to go down Highway 11 and cross the highway each morning and evening. The caution light after dropping off my student, the line is long to get back onto the main highway to make my trip to Corydon. The caution lightat South Central does not work. I’ve called the school to discuss this, and I would like to find out how we can get someone to make this a safer turn so I can turn out every morning without saying a prayer and hoping that the people coming off Highway 11 slow down. …

•Ms. Eunice Johnson, would you please explain to me one more time how my sexual preference affects your life? And whether you want to believe it or  not, God made me this way. I didn’t.

•A few weeks ago someone asked the question, “Where in the Bible does it say homosexuality is a sin?” Someone wrote in and gave the scripture in Romans 1:23-27. Some other places it is found is in Leviticus 18:22, in the Old Testament, and I Corinthians 6:9-11 and I Timothy 1:10, in the New Testament.

•I am calling in about the semi driver that had nails in his tires last week. The tire company told me that the nail that was in my tire was off a roofing shingle, so I guess that there are other people picking up nails too.

•This is for the person that called in last week’s paper’s Live Wire wanting to know more about homosexuality not being OK. … I would like to share this with (the caller). I would ask that person … to read about Sodom and Gomorrah, how God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, and to look up the word sodomy, and then turn to the next to last chapter in the Bible, in the St. James Bible edition, Jude — it’s only one chapter — tell that person to read verse 7, ’cause it says even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities known about them, give themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance and eternal fire. I hope this helps you.

•This morning I witnessed several vehicles pass a school bus that was waiting to turn left along Capitol Avenue in Corydon. These motorists were using the parking lane to pass the bus. It seems to me that many drivers today are extremely impatient and will often resort to passing illegally rather than waiting the few extra seconds for the vehicle ahead of them to turn.

•The person who said that God made gays, lesbians and Down syndrome does not understand that, when Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17). It was Adam and Eve that brought good and evil into the human family. This person also said that in the book of Romans, Paul was giving his opinion. But this is not Paul’s opinion. Paul preached by the revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:11-12).
