Britton W. Mitts
Britton Wesley Mitts, 64, of Corydon, Ind., died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
The son of the late Edwin Wesley Mitts and Dorothy Edith Story Mitts, he was born Dec. 31, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo.
He was a Christian and an over-the-road truck driver. His hobbies included motorcycles, refurbishing guns, fishing, woodworking and drawing.
He was a stranger to no one and was always the first to help. He was a kind and gentle soul. He always had a smile (sometimes a smirk) on his face and a twinkle in his eye. Even though he had health problems, he would always bring a smile or laugh to others. He was an all-around great guy who will be missed tremendously.
Survivors include his daughter, Rene Mitts of Pocola, Okla., and a son, Ed Mestyanek of Texas; three sisters, Jeannie Cuneo (Don) of Rohnert Park, Calif., Beverly Herndon (Gene) of Corydon and Vickie Duffy (Mike) of Greenville, Ind.; grandchildren, Kylah, Alexandria and Rhylan, all of Pocola, Okla., Andrew of Texas and Estella, Syndale and Mindy, all of Corydon; nieces and nephews, Tanya Drew (Melvin) and Michael Mitts of California, Wes (Miranda) and Ryan Herndon of Corydon, Summer Hayes (Matt) of Florida and Cole Duffy (Samantha) of Greenville; great-nieces and great-nephews, Theo, Tyler, Coleman and JJ Drew and Nicholas, Kassidy and Jacob Mitts, all of California, Molly and Brady Herndon of Corydon, London and Everleigh Hayes of Florida and Eleanor and Miles Duffy of Greenville; and four great-great-nieces.
Spring Valley Funeral and Cremation Service in New Albany, Ind., handled the arrangements. A memorial service was held Friday at the home of his sister Vickie.
