Phyllis Cunningham, 90, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, in Corydon, Ind.
She was born March 29, 1932, in Frenchtown, Ind., to George and Jeanette Alexander Troncin.
She was a homemaker, and she also babysat many kids in the community of which she treated as her own. Phyllis loved to sing hymns and did so until close to her final moments. She delighted in singing for numerous weddings, funerals, etc. throughout her life. She enjoyed baking and absolutely loved and adored her family. She was also a member of the Corydon VFW.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Paul (Pod) Cunningham; and her brother, Donald Troncin.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jo Schaffer of New Albany, Ind.; brother-in-law, Allen Cunningham of Sudlersville, Md.; sister-in-law, Betty Mathes (Larry) of Corydon; two granddaughters, Laurel Schaffer (Tom Marr) of Louisville, Ky., and Olivia Kincheloe (Jacob) of Palmyra, Ind.; two great-granddaughters, Adelyn and Kennedy Marr; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon is handling the arrangements.
