Racing season winding down
Racing for local interests is winding down now as fall days become cooler and sunset comes sooner.
In Kentucky at the Red Mile last Sunday, the 3-year-old pacing filly Misdinosis Bluegrass added to her 2022 bankroll with a win in the $30,000 feature race for the Brock stable.
On Monday, both Brock stable’s aged pacers, Winyard Hanover and Hayswood Ron, were in the same race and both got checks. “Winnie” was third and “Ron” was fifth in the conditioned race.
Back on this side of the river, at Hoosier Park in Anderson last week on Wednesday, in a race for 2-year-old pacing colts who have yet to win their second race, Always a Way paced home in third place. Hayswood Farm of Corydon is part of the ownership group on this colt.
On Thursday night at Hoosier Park, the father-son duo of Conrads raced against each other again and, as in the past, the son beat the father.
Carson Conrad guided his 3-year-old pacing filly Zig Zag Zoom to a fourth-place finish, while Charlie Conrad could do no better than eighth place with his 3-year-old pacer La Parka.
