HC library announces its November adult schedule
The Harrison County Public Library offers a variety of programs for adults, ages 18 and older. Programs are free unless noted otherwise. November programs will include:
Memories & Memoirs Book Club —Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Corydon; join this book club if you love historical and biographical books. The November book is “The Glimpse Traveler” by Marianne Boruch.
English as a Second Language/Ingles como segundo idioma — Tuesdays, Nov. 8 and 22, from 11 a.m. to noon and Thursdays, Nov. 3 and 17, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Corydon. This program is intended for those wanting to improve their English language skills in order to help them work and fully participate in the life of their communities. (Note: These dates and times are the updated ones from what was in the newspaper.)
Books & Bagels — Friday, Nov. 4, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Corydon. Choose any book from the HCPL collection to read and come enjoy a bagel and be prepared to share an overview about the book you selected.
Manga & Anime Club — Saturday, Nov. 5, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Corydon. The manga for November is “Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War Vol. 1.”
Tuesday Take-Out — Tuesday, Nov. 8, Pecan Pie at Elizabeth. Register to pick up a bag that will include everything you need to make a treat at home. Registration is required.
Clever Crafts — Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Corydon. Whether or not you consider yourself to be a crafty person, come create clever crafts; all materials will be provided, including instructions and help if needed. November’s craft is a fall wreath. Registration is required.
Card Class — Monday, Nov. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lanesville and Thursday, Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Palmyra. Create handmade cards to take home. All materials are included.
Just Desserts — Monday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Corydon. Participants will bring a themed dessert to share along with the recipe used to create it and will sample each other’s desserts and collect copies of each recipe. Theme for November is Pies/Cobblers. Registration is required.
Cooking with Class — Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lanesville. Experiment with new ingredients while preparing dishes and learn about various ways to create delicious meals. The focus for November will be apples.
Cook Book Club — Thursday, Nov. 17, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Corydon. Participants will bring a themed dish (main or side) to share along with the recipe used to create it and will sample each other’s dishes and collect copies of each recipe. Theme for November is casseroles. Registration is required.
Mystery Book Club — Monday, Nov. 21, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Lanesville. The November book is “Scratchgravel Road” by Tricia Fields.
Stitches in Time/Sit & Stitch — Bring a current project or start something new, work at your own pace and enjoy the company of others. Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Corydon, Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Palmyra and Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lanesville.

All library locations will be closed Friday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. Also, library locations will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, and remain closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Harrison County Library Board of Trustees will meet Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Lanesville branch at 3 p.m.
