Lucille Schilmiller Fessel, age 99, Depauw, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, at Harrison Springs Health Center in Corydon, Ind.

She was born in Rosewood, Ind., on Jan. 21, 1923, to Louis and Ruth Brown Schilmiller. She married Clyde C. Fessel on Aug. 19, 1941.

Lucille worked as the vice president of the Old Union Bank & Trust, retiring after 27 years of service. She was a member of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford, Ind., as well as the St. Michael’s Quilting Club and St. Anne’s Society. Lucille enjoyed quilting, gardening and outdoor activities, but, most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Mary Kutter and Frances Cunningham; three brothers, Louis Schilmiller, Vincent Schilmiller and Lawrence Schilmiller; and one son-in-law, Jim Wise.

Lucille is survived by her three daughters, Mary Jones (Richard), Carol Wise and Rita Kincaid (Mike); three sons, Donald Fessel (Vickie), Robert Fessel (Vickie) and John Fessel (Glenna); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Bradford.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Ind., from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Love Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lucille’s name to St. Michael’s Catholic Church at 1100 Farmers Lane NE, Greenville, IN 47124.
