The eighth annual Pal Wow Glow Run and Fun Walk will return as part of the Pal Wow Family Fun Festival on Friday, Sept. 23.

The Remainders will play before, during and after the race, which will take place at Buffalo Trace Park east of Palmyra. An added offering will be hot-air balloon rides.

The event course will wind through the park, following the walking/jogging trail three times around the 30-acre lake. Walkers will go around the lake once. A water station will be offered.

Race-day registration will begin at 7 p.m. with the 4-mile race and fun walk beginning at 8:30.

An awards program will take place at approximately 9:30.

Registration fee for the 4-mile Glow Run is $30 for those 15 and older and $20 for those younger than 15. The first 200 pre-registered participants will receive a commemorative glow-in-the-dark coin, and each participant will receive a blinking bracelet to wear during the race to help illuminate the lake and course.

Event T-shirts will be available at the race finish line for those who pre-register; those who register after Sept. 7 are not guaranteed a shirt.

Awards will be given in various age groups. The overall top male and female winners will receive a plaque and a $50 gift certificate to Pacers and Racers but are not eligible for the age group awards. Plaques also will be presented to the top male and female winners of each age group.

Door prizes also will be announced at 9:30 (must be present to win). All runners and walkers are eligible for this drawing.

All proceeds will go to the Pal Wow Family Fun Festival and the North Harrison Middle School and High School cross-country teams.
