SHCSC to continue same COVID protocols as last year
Dr. Mark Eastridge, superintendent of the South Harrison Community School Corp., addressed COVID-19 protocols at a special school board meeting Friday morning.
He said the school corporation will continue the same protocols as last school year as state guidelines have not changed.
Those protocols include:
If an individual tests positive, notify the school nurse; stay home for five days from onset of symptoms or test date if asymptomatic; and return to school and extracurricular activities on day 6 if asymptomatic or symptoms are resolving and without fever for 24 hours.
A negative test or doctor’s note is no longer required to return to school. Masks are optional in South Harrison school buildings and its buses.
South Harrison will notify parents if it believes there is a significant exposure to COVID-19 at school, such as a cluster or outbreak.
