The Historical Society of Harrison County is embarking on a video and booklet project to tell the story of Blue River, which is funded through a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission with a match from the Harrison County Community Foundation.

The public is invited to participate in the project by submitting Blue River photos, maps, stories, historical information, newspaper clippings and any other items of interest about people, places, things and adventures for possible inclusion.

“We are really excited about this project to capture and share the story of the journey of Blue River as it meanders through Washington, Harrison and Crawford County on its way to the Ohio,” said Karen Schwartz, president of the Historical Society of Harrison County. “Since this project includes both a video and booklet component, this provides a great opportunity to include a wide variety of submissions as we strive to protect, promote, preserve and interpret our rich history by telling the story of amazing Blue River.

“This is a great chance for people to participate in our continuing efforts to preserve local history for posterity,” she said.

Anyone who would like to contribute items can send them electronically to Schwartz at [email protected] or mail them to: Karen Schwartz, 5850 Devil’s Elbow Road NW, Cory-

don, IN 47112.
