Former writer remembers ‘fascinating’ people she met
I was sorry to learn of the sale of The Corydon Democrat, one of Indiana’s best weekly newspapers, and that it will no longer be a family-owned community newspaper. I hope that the new owners keep the commitment to excellent community journalism that The Democrat has enjoyed for so many years under the ownership of the O’Bannon family.
I worked at The Democrat from 1976 to 1981, when Randy West was editor. We sure had some great times and did some great journalism in those years, having earned the title of state’s best weekly several times from the Hoosier State Press Association.
Maybe there are a few people around Harrison and Crawford counties who still remember me. I certainly haven’t forgotten all the fascinating people I interviewed and all the great folks I worked with, who have remained friends.
Wishing all the best to the current staff of The Corydon Democrat!
