Beta Chi chapter of Tri Kappa meets

Kappa Kappa Kappa Beta Chi Associate chapter had its June meeting at Corydon United Methodist Church. President Betty Stem initiated Pat Windell as new secretary to complete Linda Timberlake’s term as she is moving out of state.

Because of last year’s successful pecan sales, the chapter was able to make several donations fulfilling its obligation to promote charity, culture and education. Hosparus, Riley Cheer Guild and Hoosier Salon each received donations.

The majority of the chapter’s philanthropic funds went to Harrison County Arts, YMCA of Harrison County (student swim lessons) and United Methodist Women (food pantry).

Four memorial books were donated to the Harrison County Public Library. “Gardening for Everyone,” “Dreams of Duneland,” “50 States 500 Campgrounds” and “Handmade Houses for Birds Bees and Butterflies” should help support summer travel and activities, chapter members said.

Hostesses for the meeting — Beth Bostock, Janet Kelley, Linda Ray and Sharon Mathes — provided Flag Day-inspired refreshments.
