Dozens of motorcyclists make their way south on Capitol Avenue in downtown Corydon last Tuesday on their way to the Harrison County Fairgrounds, where many of them spent the night before continuing on their way to Washington, D.C. The motorcyclists were participating in the Run for the Wall, an annual 10-day journey that begins in California and concludes Memorial Day weekend in the nation’s capitol. This year was the first official visit for the group since 2019, as the rides were canceled due to COVID-19 precautions. Before departing Corydon last Wednesday morning, participants were treated to breakfast at the fairgrounds by the Harrison County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Just shy of 500 riders were registered for the Run for the Wall’s central route, which passes through Corydon.
