A bright, blue sky and perfect temperatures served as the backdrop as Wooded View Golf Course in Clarksville played host to the annual Mid-Southern Conference tournament.

In a tight, nine-team field, it came down to a tiebreaker before Silver Creek squeaked by Austin courtesy of a tiebreaker between each side’s fifth golfers to take home the MSC team title. The No. 9 Dragons took home more hardware as Carter Smith shot a 1-under-par to take home medalist honors, as well as having all five participants earn all-conference honors.

North Harrison had a strong day as well, finishing third with a combined score of 316. The Cougars were once again led by Cole Hergenrather and Tanner Fravel, who both finished in the top five to earn a spot on the All-MSC team for the second consecutive year.

Alongside Hergenrather’s 74 and Fravel’s 75, the Cougars also saw All-MSC Honorable Mention Austin Reynolds finish with an 81 followed by an 86 from Johnathon Seitz and a 99 from Dawson Allen.

Corydon Central had a solid showing in the tournament, barely beating out Charlestown to finish fifth with a combined score of 344. The Panthers were led by Canaan Stockdale, whose 77 tied him with Austin’s Garrison Barton and Scottsburg’s Dare Bowles for fifth, making him the Panthers’ lone all-conference representative.

Hunter Schmitt and Alex Bowman followed Stocksdale’s performance as they each shot an 86, followed by a 95 from Cooper Shireman and Seth Johnson’s 97.
