As the boys’ basketball season draws to a close, several hoops players are being honored with all-conference honors. The Southern Athletic Conference is no different.

Harrison County saw decent representation on the All-SAC team as South Central’s Christian Kiper and Cole Thomas, along with Lanesville’s Maddex Miller, were named to the 10-player team.

Kiper, a sophomore combo guard, led the Rebels with 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Thomas, a freshman combo guard, followed with 12.4 points while leading the Rebels with 3.2 assists and 1.9 steals and finishing third with 4.2 rebounds.

The Rebels’ duo are expected to lead what will be an experienced squad next season after finishing 8-16 (2-3 SAC).

Miller, a junior point guard, was the lone representative for the Eagles’ team as he led the way with 8.8 points, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game, along with finishing second with 3.6 rebounds.

It wasn’t enough for the Eagles, who finished the season with a 6-16 record (2-3 SAC), but Miller is expected to lead a more experienced squad next season.

Conference champion Borden dominated the awards, placing a conference-best three players, led by SAC Most Outstanding Kasym Nash.

Braves’ head coach Doc Nash was named SAC Coach of the Year for the first time since 2014-15.

The remaining All-SAC Team includes Sterling Mikel (Borden), Mason Jones (Borden), Sam Guernsey (Henryville), Layton Walton (Henryville), Matthew Arthur (New Washington) and Mason Arthur (New Washington).
