North Harrison recently sent archery teams at the elementary, middle and high school levels to compete in the 16th annual Indiana National Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament.
Since the Indiana NASP began in 2002 with 10 pilot schools, the organization has now trained more t

han 600 schools throughout the state to deliver archery programs to students. According to a statement from the Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources, more than 70,000 Indiana students have benefited from this program.
Competing at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis on March 12, the Cougars made strides at all levels. The high school team finished seventh in three-dimensional shooting, led by Lydia Windell winning the individual state title in the event. Her second-place showing in the Bullseye shooting also paced the Cougars, who finished 11th as a team.
The North Harrison Middle School squad had similar success as it finished third in 3D and fifth in Bullseye. Leading the way was Hazel Robertson, who finished second in the 3D female division.
Morgan Elementary School finished fifth in 3D and seventh in Bullseye.
North Harrison Elementary School had the best overall finish of the four teams, finishing third in 3D and fourth in Bullseye. Kyler Kock and Ivy Robertson led the way at Bullseye with the former finishing third in the male division and the latter finishing sixth in the female division. Jacey Harr followed by taking fifth place in the female division in 3D.
