Violet McKim

Violet Mallory McKim, age 93, Clarksville, Ind., passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving great-nieces, on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022.

Vi married Dallas McKim in 1967.

She was born in Derby, Ind., to Orville and Julina Sandage Mallory on Dec. 15, 1928.

Vi was a lover of the written word and enjoyed writing letters as well as receiving them. She was a competitive card player, and she was not a fan of losing. Vi and Dallas lived in Okeechobee, Fla., for 21 years where they enjoyed nature and fishing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Eldon Mason; one step-daughter, Laura Maxine McKim; four brothers, August Mallory, Earl Mallory, Robin Mallory and Heman Howell; and one sister, Viola Taylor.

Vi is survived by one daughter, Wanda Smith; one son, Denzil Mason (Lisa); one step-son, Alvin McKim (Becky); and several grandchildren, as well as her caretaker and great-nieces, Sheila Vaughn (Keith) and Sheri Ness (Andy).

Cremation was chosen. Love Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
