Lanesville man arrested for child molestation
A Lanesville man was arrested last week on child molestation charges following an Indiana State Police investigation.
In late December, the Indiana Dept. of Child Services contacted ISP Detective Chris Tucker after learning of possible child molestation allegations involving a pre-teen child at a Harrison County apartment.
On Dec. 20, Tucker attended a forensic interview conducted at the Comfort House Child Advocacy Center in Harrison County. Tucker was accompanied by a DCS caseworker as well as a representative from the Harrison County Prosecutor’s Office.
Following the interview, Tucker continued his investigation, which included interviews with family members and 38-year-old Bryan K. Benson, who resided with the child in a Lanesville apartment.
As a result of the investigation, Tucker requested an arrest warrant through the Harrison County Prosecutor’s Office. That warrant was issued by Harrison Superior Court last Tuesday afternoon
That evening, Trooper Nathan Newton and Deputy Hunter Anderson of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Dept. arrested Benson at his apartment.
Benson is charged with two counts of child molestation, each a Level Four felony.
Officers transported Benson to the Harrison County Jail in Corydon without incident.
