Laura D. Van Fossen Spalding, 38, Georgetown, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2022.

Born Nov. 2, 1983, in Sidney, Ohio, she was the daughter of Eric Van Fossen and Holly Born Page.

She earned degrees in vocal performance, history and German at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, was the music director and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, former program director of the Corydon Capitol State Historic Site and served many roles at Hayswood Theatre in Corydon.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gary Van Fossen and Robert Born.

Survivors besides her parents include her husband, James Spalding; four children, Joseph, Chloe, Theodore and Felicity Spalding; stepfather, Albert Page; brother, John Van Fossen; step-brother, David Page; and grandmothers, Barbara (Sue) Van Fossen and Janet Born.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 16, from noon to 5 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in New Albany and Monday, Jan. 17, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
