Gary Allen Hayden, 57, passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at his home in Corydon, Ind.

He was born April 22, 1964, the son of James Lancy and Elizabeth Bennett Hayden.

Gary worked as a regional distribution specialist for 3M. He spent his entire working career in the electrical industry, where he made many long-lasting friendships. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany, Ind., and the Corydon Moose Lodge. He was a graduate of CCHS (Class of ’81) and Indiana University Southeast and played basketball in both high school and college. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially boating on the Ohio River. Most of all, he took pride in being the greatest father possible. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Amy McKnight; son, Brock Hayden of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughter, Brooke Hayden of Sellersburg, Ind.; stepsons, Branden Epperson (Kayla) of Chicago, Ill., Micah and Drew Lewis of Abilene, Texas, and Ross Lewis of Hopkinsville, Ky.; father, James Lancy Hayden of Corydon; brother, Gregory T. Hayden (Leann McKnight) of Corydon; grandson, Jace Lewis; and nieces and nephews, Lauren, Spencer and Ezra Hayden and Reghan Wiles.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at OLPH. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Corydon.
