Frances Sizemore

Frances Holland Sizemore, age 83, Palmyra, Ind., passed away peacefully at the Beehive Homes of Georgetown, Ind., on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1938, in Asher, Ky., to Haywood and Eliza (Polly) Holland. Frances married Elmer Ray Sizemore on May 5, 1956.

She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Hardinsburg, Ind. Frances was a long-time resident of Palmyra, residing within the town for more than 57 years. She worked as a waitress and cook for the Stagecoach restaurant in Palmyra for over 33 years. Frances enjoyed cooking, gardening and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers, Woodrow Holland, Winfred Holland, Dan Holland, Glen Holland and Eugene Holland; and one grandchild, Samantha Matherly.

She is survived by her two daughters, Diana Cardwell (Pat) and Hattie Matherly (Mike); two sons, Thomas Sizemore (Phyllis) and Tony Sizemore (Sara); one sister, Hattie Marcum (Tommy); nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2022, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.

Visitation will be held on Jan. 4, 2022, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Jan. 5 from 11 a.m. until time of service at Love Funeral Home.
