Cora J. Frakes

Cora Jane Frakes, 88, of Corydon, Ind., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Ind.

She was born July 21, 1933, in Corydon, to the late Earl and Jewell Shaffer Conrad.

She was a member of Union Chapel Christian Church near Laconia, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph E. Frakes; her daughter, Mary Ann Schenck; and her sister, Doris Lopp.

Survivors include her daughter, Becky J. Welsh (Jerry) of Memphis, Ind.; her son-in-law, Bernie E. Schenck Jr. of Corydon; her granddaughter, Amanda L. Uhl (Andrew) of Corydon; and her great-grandsons, Lincoln Robert Uhl and William Russel Uhl.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. The Rev. Rick Utz will officiate. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery near Laconia.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Rogers, Adam Uhl, David Thornton, Andrew Uhl, Robbie Shewmaker and Dale Shewmaker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Welsh, Harold Lopp and Bernie Schenck.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Union Chapel Cemetery.
