Barbara Jayne Zook Reasor, 83, Corydon, Ind., died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021, at the Villas of Guerin Woods in Georgetown, Ind.

She was born on July 15, 1938, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to J. Ford and Edna Blanche Parmley Zook and grew up in Michigan City, Ind.

She became a registered nurse and learned cardiac monitoring when it was a new procedure in California. Upon moving to Corydon, she worked at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky., for 25 years in ICU and CCU and retired as a surgical nurse. After her retirement, she and her husband, Nelson, spent many years renovating campers and houseboats in which they enjoyed many travel adventures throughout the U.S. Barbara was a skilled seamstress and avid quilter and enjoyed spending time with her quilting circle friends in Okeechobee, Fla., where they wintered for many years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 41 years, Nelson Reasor.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters Jennifer Mader (Roger) and Sharon Rosenbarger (Michael), both of Corydon, and Amy Nicholson (Jim) of Summertown, Tenn.; stepson Robert C. Reasor; stepdaughter Vicki Lamb (Brad) of New Salisbury, Ind.; brother Phillip Zook of Bloomington, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren and one expected in February.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 2, from 12 until 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 until 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to thee Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, KY 40205-3284.
