Allison H. Faith

Allison Hoffert Faith, 43, of Corydon, Ind., passed into new life after a 3-1/2-year battle with metastatic breast cancer on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021.

She was born June 19, 1978.

Allison is survived in death by her beloved husband, Matthew; their children, Nathan and Madeline; and her dog, River. She is also survived by her parents, John and Kim Hoffert; her sister and brother-in-law, Meagan and Ryan Krift, and their children, Harrison, Anabel and Estella; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis and Rebecca Faith; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Denny and Alma Faith.

All who knew Allison have described her as a bright light, and so much of that came from her love of teaching and literature.

For the last 10 years, Allison was an English teacher at Corydon Central High School, where she absolutely loved her students and was privileged to serve as the National Honor Society sponsor.

Allison was a graduate of Bolingbrook High School in Bolingbrook, Ill., and Centre College in Danville, Ky. She earned a master’s degree in English and a master’s degree in education, both from the University of Louisville. Allison was an avid sports fan of both the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team and the Cincinnati Reds. She especially cherished her phone calls to her father to discuss the results of each game. Teaching, reading and watching her Cats play brought Allison great joy.

Nothing was more important to her than her sweet family and her two beautiful children. During her private fight with cancer, her primary request was to keep everything as normal as possible for them.

Allison will be honored in a celebration of life this spring in Corydon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Allison’s Legacy of Light at www.gofundme.com.
