Kathi Bacon


Kathi Mazuch Bacon, 70, Corydon, Ind., passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at Harrison County Hospital after an illness.
She was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Oct. 10, 1951, to Carl and Helen Swank Mazuch.
Kathi was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon. She was a 1969 graduate of Corydon Central High School. She was a retired medical secretary, having worked for several physicians in New Albany and the V.A. Medical Center in Louisville until she retired in 2008. Kathi was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era, and she also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for three years after that. She was an avid supporter and member of the Indiana Republican Party, the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association, the Indiana Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, Faith and Freedom Coalition, National Republican Advisory Board, Judicial Watch, AMAC, Republican National Committee and Right to Life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert (Bob) Mazuch of Salem.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Bacon of Corydon; three daughters, Lindsay Bacon of New Albany, Ind., Jennifer Curry of Tulsa, Okla., and Danielle Bacon of Corydon; grandchildren, Aidan Pollard, Casey Kopman and Sabrielle Curry; her nephew, Bobby Mazuch (Jennifer); several other nieces and nephews, and her sister, Nancy Prater, all of Salem, Ind.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon with cremation to follow.
