Out with the old
Members of the New Middletown Volunteer Fire Dept. learn about the new self-contained breathing apparatuses they received during a training session last Wednesday night. Fire chief Mike Riley said the 10 new SCBAs were purchased with grant money in the amount of $66,666.67 that the department received from the Fiscal Year 2020 Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The SCBAs, purchased from Fire Department and Service, replace outdated equipment and were put into service Thursday. “We have been trying to find other options, such as working for grants, to try and save taxpayers of our township some money,” Riley said.
