Funds for seat sacks Funds for seat sacks

Photo by Kaitlyn Clay. Corydon Elementary School second-grade teacher Chris Stafford receives a $400 grant she applied for earlier in the school year for her class from the Indiana Retired Teacher’s Association. She shared that she intends to use the funds toward purchasing seat sacks, which hang over students’ seats and allows them to store all their necessities for the day inside. Stafford said that because of COVID-19 she has learned the importance of students being able to access their belongings in a healthy and more individualized way without sharing in order to minimize germ transfer. She also received another grant earlier in the year from Blue River Services Inc., which allowed her to purchase new science material.
