Helen F. Byerly
Helen Fay Crane Byerly, age 92, Palmyra, Ind., passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021.
She was born in Orleans, Ind., on May 31, 1929, to Charles Newton and Bethel Daisy Young Crane. Helen married Delmond (Ray) Byerly on Aug. 11, 1950, and they have enjoyed 71 wonderful years together.
She graduated from Hardinsburg High School in Hardinsburg, Ind. Helen worked at the Box Factory in New Albany, Ind., and was a loving mother and homemaker. She is a member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church in Palmyra. Helen enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, sewing, painting on canvas and saws and loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Edith Cooper and twin Ellen May Maupin; and three brothers, James Edward Crane, Marvin Kenneth Crane and Charles Oscar Crane.
Helen is survived by her husband; one son, Garry Allen Byerly (Sharon); two daughters, Juanita Love (Jerry) and Vivian Byerly; two brothers, Arvil Leon Crane and Olen Emerson Crane; four grandchildren, Kelly Revard, Keith Byerly (Angel), Daniel Love (Jacquelyn) and Derek Love (Nicole); and nine great-grandchildren, as well as her loving care givers, Wanda Patton, Connie Halas and Della Huett.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, from 2 to 8 p.m. and again on Dec. 1, 2021, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s name to Palmyra United Methodist Church at 13855 N. Martin-Mathis Road NE, Palmyra, IN 47164.
