Clarence Summers, age 86, Depauw, Ind., passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, surrounded by family at his home.
Clarence was born June 1, 1935, at Alton, Ind., to the late Edward and Mary Chanley Summers.
He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1954 to 1958, and a retired mechanic at ICI America, Charlestown, Ind. He was a member of Alton American Legion Post No. 133 and a 50-year member of Marengo Masonic Lodge No. 475.
Also preceding him in death were his wife, Wilma Jean Arnold Summers; infant daughter, Laura Lee Summers; and sister, Brenda Joyce Wetzel.
Surviving are sons Terry Summers (Lori) of Verona, Ky., and Wesley Summers (Cathy) of Milltown, Ind.; daughters Robin Byerly of Taylor Mill, Ky., Debra Rumple (Bob) of Corydon, Ind., and Robyn Warren of Corydon; brother Joe Summers of Paoli, Ind.; sister Linda Longest of Clarksville, Ind.; grandchildren Tyler Warren, Heather and Jesse Byerly, Charity Fisher, Laci McDaniel, Samantha Summers, Scott Rumple and Justin and Adam Schotter; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Highway 64 NW, Ramsey, Ind., with burial of his cremated remains at Hursttown Cemetery, Corydon.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Adaptive Care Hospice.
