Harvey C. Brock
Harvey C. Brock, Clarksville, Ind., was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Fowler, Ind., to the late David Francis (Frank) and Nellie Rae Jenkins Brock.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Geneva Brock Divine Martin, and Doris Brock Mallory, and brothers, Everitt (Bud) Brock and Ernest W. Brock.
He is survived by one brother, Robert E. Brock of Elizabeth, Ind.; devoted friend, Joyce Blake of Jeffersonville, Ind.; niece, Beverly Crump (Mike) of New Albany, Ind., who cared for him; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was loved by many and traveled for years around to many area churches, playing music, what he loved doing. He tried to never miss a hymn sing, played piano, organ and accordion. He was a devout Seventh Day Adventist and Korean War veteran, serving in both the Army and Navy. While living in Georgia, he was a part of a traveling music choral, singing in many parts of the country. He worked at the Kettering hospital in California and retired as pianist for Ralph Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., and Seventh Day Adventist hospital in Georgia, where he was a chef. His niece grew up learning to sing with him at many area churches. He touched many lives with his love for music and never missed the chance to sit down at a piano or organ if one was anywhere close at hand, including his last days while living at Autumn Woods.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ind. Pastor Eric Freking will officiate. Burial will follow in Seven Day Adventist Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, and again on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home in Georgetown.
