James F. Horsley
James F. (Kentucky Horsefly) Horsley, 77, of Central, Ind., died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at his home near Central.
He was born Dec. 17, 1943, in Breckinridge County, Ky., to the late Elmer and Mary Agnes Pate Horsley.
He retired from Tyson Foods, in Corydon, Ind., on March 26, 2015, after 46 years and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Old Capitol Aerie No. 2794 in Corydon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Edward Horsley; his half brothers, Charles and Anthony Horsley; and his half sisters, Mary Parker, Anna Horsley, Marcella Horsley and Dora Huff.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Darlene P. Duke Horsley; his daughter, Connie A. Goddard (Thomas Jr.) of Meade County, Ky.; his stepsons, Roger Wooten Jr. (Wendy) of Corydon and Benjamin Wooten of Indiana; his stepdaughters, Christine Shaffer of Corydon, Carla Stepro (Jerry) of Corydon and Crystal Wooten (Shawn) of Mauckport, Ind.; his grandchildren, Jarred and Jena Wilkins; his great-granddaughter, Madison Wilkins; his step-grandchildren, Jessie and Ariel Morgan, Chris Shaffer, Jackie Weddington (Craig), Justin Stepro (Bri), Toxey and Ivy Smith and Jakob and Allie Wooten; his step-great-grandchildren, Atlas Stiner, Benson and Barrett Stepro and Brentley, Braxley and Willow Weddington; and his sister, Theresa Morris of Cloverport, Ky.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. The Rev. Gilbert Duley will officiate. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Central.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jarred Wilkins, Thomas Goddard Jr., Roger Wooten Jr., Jakob Wooten, Allie Wooten and Jerry Stepro. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Shaffer and Benjamin Wooten.
