65th anniversary

John and Nancy Fugit Walter of Lanesville will celebrate their sapphire wedding anniversary.

They were married Nov. 10, 1956, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Clarksville.

John retired after 35 years in construction and farming, and Nancy retired from Granny’s Restaurant and is a homemaker. After retiring, they enjoy spending time with their grandchildren great-grandchildren, wood working, quilting and traveling.

They have nine children, Tom, Jim, Bob and Mike Walter and JoAnn Baker, all of Lanesville, Tony Walter and Denise Sander, both of Corydon, Diana Kerr of Georgetown and the late Angie Elder. They also have 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
