Angels from God deem Light the Night a success thanks to generous donors
The Light the Night Leukemia & Lymphoma Society team Angels From God would like to thank the generous ones who donated toward our fund-raising efforts.
We raised $3,000 at the Pal Wow in Palmyra on Sept. 24 and 25 with silent auction items and raffles items that local businesses donated. We raised $1,000 at the roadblock in downtown Corydon on July 24. We also raised $1,066 at the roadblock in downtown Corydon on Oct 2. We would like to thank Mauckport United Methodist Church for donating $300.
Our goal this year was $4,000, and we, our small community, went over our goal. All the money that was raised will fund life-saving cancer research and services for patients, bringing help and hope to thousands of people battling blood cancers.
I started walking for Light the Night back at Prosser Career Education Center in 2007 and, after graduating in 2009, I wanted to still do the walk. So, I made my own team, called Angels From God.
This year is the biggest year that I have raised money for the walk.
There are a lot of people in our community who have leukemia or lymphoma who have impacted our lives, and I am glad that I can raise money for the society and it can help bring hope for those family.
