James F. Sorg
James F. Sorg, 84, Elizabeth, Ind., passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Ind.
He was born Oct. 15, 1936, in Anderson, Ind., the son of Leo Louis and Anna Genieve Lyons Sorg.
He retired after 32 years as a customer service employee for TWA in Louisville, Ky., was a member of the National Guard, Knights of Columbus and Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Biehle Sorg of Elizabeth; sons, Michael Sorg (Tamara) of Fort Wayne, Ind., Rick Sorg (Kathy) of Elizabeth, Timothy Sorg of New Albany and Carl Sorg (Teri) of Sellersburg, Ind.; daughters, Brenda Englert (Mark) of New Albany, Lisa Whyland (Jon) of Jeffersonville, Ind., Connie Davis (Brian) of Louisville, Kimberly Graves (Garland) of Indianapolis, Ind., and Tonya Sorg of Louisville; brothers, Joe Sorg (Toni Ann) of Columbus, Ind., John Sorg (Carolyn) of Sellersburg, Anthony Sorg (Alice) of Henryville, Ind., and Charles Sorg of North Vernon, Ind.; sisters, Mary Catherine Deppe of Columbus, Theresa Blevins of North Vernon, Winifred Goeltz of Indianapolis, Amy Rebello (Willie) of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jeanie Blackburn (Bill) of North Vernon; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New Middletown, Ind. Father Robert St. Martin will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Ind.
The family requests that masks please be worn.
The family suggests memorial gifts be made to St. Joseph Catholic School.
