Youth Livestock 101 series to begin Youth Livestock 101 series to begin

Youth in grades 5 to 12 are invited to attend the Youth Livestock 101 series.

The first session, Nutrition – Pseudo Ruminants, will take place Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Corydon. Participants will engage in a feed lab, learn about horse and pig nutrition and explore a pig’s digestive tract.

Youth are welcome to attend one or multiple sessions by registering two weeks prior to the date of the program(s) they wish to attend.

Additional sessions will include Nutrition – Ruminants on Nov. 10 in Ramsey, Reproduction – Cattle on Dec. 16 in Elizabeth, Reproduction – Pigs and Horses on Jan. 12 virtually and Nutrition – Poultry and Rabbits on Feb. 12 in Leavenworth.
