Jeffrey (Jay) Jordan, 59, formerly of Corydon, passed away on Jan. 21, 2021, in Bardstown, Ky., where he spent the last 30 years of his life.
He was a graduate of Corydon Central High School and Indiana University and an alumnus of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was a small business owner in Bardstown at the time of his passing. He will be remembered as a man who “knew a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff,” including IU sports, the Olympics, endangered forests and wildlife, a plethora of history, Kentucky Derby trivia, brain teasers, astronomy, table tennis, just to name a few.
He leaves behind a brother, Dr. Curt Jordan of New Albany; two daughters, Katie Jordan and Susie Kinniard, both of Louisville; a niece, Laura Shadburne of Crestwood, Ky.; and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his sister, Allison; his parents, Dr. Richard and Frances Jordan; a brother, Greg Jordan; and an infant daughter, Laura.
Plans have been made for a celebration of life the weekend of what would have been his 60th birthday. The family invites you to share stories and celebrate his life on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, from 1 to 5 p.m. EDT at the Old Capital Golf Club, 1605 Highway 62 NE, Corydon, IN 47112.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to organizations important to Jay: the Corydon Youth Wrestling Club and the Southern Indiana Table Tennis Association. Pre-addressed envelopes will be available the day of the gathering.
