Hero Reward will celebrate its 10th anniversary Saturday, Aug. 28, with its annual picnic.

The event, from 4 p.m. until dark at the Hero Reward facility located at 873 Walnut Valley Road NW, Corydon, will be at no cost to anyone. There will be T-shirts and additional prize chances available for sale during the event. Prizes of $100 and $50 Bass Pro gift cards, a guided turkey hunt, bow fishing, a trot line fishing trip, guns, trail cameras, custom-built knives and more will be given away.

Numerous activities are planned, including a helicopter tour, hot-air balloon rides, ax throwing, fishing and a flag ceremony. Iron Eagles motorcycle club will host its eighth annual benefit ride for veterans that day.

Hero Rewards is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Harrison County that provides service to military and first responders and their families at no charge. Everyone involved with Hero Rewards are volunteers, and all funds donated to the organization go directly to the people they serve.

About 700 attendees are expected at the picnic, ranging from active and retired veterans, police officers, first responders and their families. Anyone who supports these heroes is invited to come and enjoy the evening with them.
