Capital Aquatics closed out its summer swim season the past two weeks, sending 22 swimmers to the Central West Indiana Divisional Championship and one swimmer to the Zone National Age-Group Championship.

The CW Divisional Championship was hosted in Crawfordsville and featured 30 USA Swimming club teams from the region. Swimming for Capital Aquatics at the meet were Royce Apple, Andrew Bolling, Carter Bolling, Sam Byers, Katy DeWitt, Miles Elrod, Nicola Ganchev, Jude Gay, Jack Hildreth, Adeline Johnson, Ella Johnson, Alyssa Johnson, Ellis Kaiser, Emerson Kaiser, Megan King, Cam Lasley, Isaac Mikel, Damon Smith, Isabel Tunney, James Williams and Brecke Wolfe.

Collectively, the team won 58 medals during the three-day competition, including first-place finishes for Ellis Kaiser in the 100-yard breaststroke, Isabel Tunney in the 1,650-yard freestyle and Brecke Wolfe in the 50-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.

Wolfe continued on to the National Age-Group Championship, where she competed for Team Indiana. She scored in all three of her individual events and one relay event, including medaling in the 400-meter freestyle.

The meet included swimmers from 16 states throughout the Midwest and required athletes achieve a time standard ranking them in the top 6% of swimmers nationally in order to qualify for participation.

Team Indiana won the competition with 5,138 points followed by Wisconsin with 3,550 and Ohio with 3,486.

Capital Aquatics will take a three-week break from training before returning to the pool Sept. 1 to begin its winter season.
