Indiana Dept. of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. planned to begin work on westbound Interstate 64 at Indian Creek and Brush Heap Creek (mile-markers 106.6 and 107.9, respectively) starting on or after Monday, July 26.

Construction was to begin with the left inside lane of westbound I-64 closed in this location. Crews will work their way across both bridges, switching lane closures to the right outside lane in six to eight weeks, weather permitting.

A 15-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project, and the westbound bridges are expected to be completed in late October.

Bridge work began in March with the eastbound lanes, which are now complete.

This is part of a nearly $4 million bridge rehabilitation contract on S.R. 111 and I-64 in Harrison and Floyd counties, which includes bridge deck overlays, approach and guardrail replacement, deck patching and joint repairs.
