Duke Energy will perform repairs to electrical equipment in Crawford County on Thursday, July 22, starting at 9 p.m. that will require a temporary outage.

The outage will affect about 865 customers, from the Interstate 64 interchange at Carefree, including all of Leavenworth, to north of I-64, approximately 3.5 miles up S.R. 66 at Knight Road.

This temporary interruption of service is expected to last approximately 6 hours.

If the work cannot be performed on July 22, it will be rescheduled at the same time for Friday, July 23. When an outage is planned, if circumstances change, including the weather, the outage may be rescheduled to the alternate date.

Though it’s very unlikely these repairs will result in any direct interactions, know that Duke Energy crews are practicing strict social distancing. For their well-being and that of its customers, customers are asked to maintain a safe distance of at least 6 feet from Duke field personnel.

This work helps ensure the continuous delivery of reliable service to the community. Duke Energy apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates everyone’s understanding.
