Virginia L. Baumgart, 83, Lanesville, Ind., passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Ind. Her sweet body is no longer in pain.
She was born Feb. 22, 1938, in Lyons, Neb., the daughter of Ora and Verna Rhode Johnson.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lighthouse of Prayer Church in Louisville, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice Stoffer; two sons, Dale and Scott Stoffer; and a brother, Ora Dean Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Baumgart of Lanesville; daughters, Cherry Scott (Evan) of Eutawville, S.C., and Heather Canter (Kevin) of Sellersburg, Ind.; brothers, Verle Johnson (Linda) and Dallas Johnson (Rose), both of Corydon, Ind.; sister, Peggy Wadlow of Arkansas; grandchildren, Crystal, Erica, Scott, Alexis and Colton; and great-grandchildren, Junior, Trinity, Tyler, Summer, Chloe, Emmy, Ava and Mia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ind. Pastor Barry Ralph will officiate. Burial will be in Edwardsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday also at the funeral home in Georgetown.
