John William Harvey, 79, Sulphur, died Monday, June 21, 2021, at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth.

Born April 8, 1942, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Max Harvey and Ellen Roark Fowler.

He was an Air Force veteran, having served in France during Vietnam, a former school teacher for schools in Jefferson County, Ky., Plainfield and Arizona, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Harvey; seven sons, John W. Harvey Jr. of Lexington, Kevin Harvey of California, Sean Harvey of Hanover, Jonathan Harvey of Depauw, Michael Harvey of Fenton, Mo., and Jaron and Jacob Harvey, both of Sulphur; a daughter, Rachel Yingling of Moultrie, Ga.; two sisters, Joyce Watson of Terre Haute and Judy Leitch of Omaha, Neb.; 29 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 27, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown and Monday, June 28, after 9 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints near Marengo.

The funeral will be Monday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at the church with interment in El Bethel Cemetery near Milltown. Greg Sissel will preside over the service.
