John Beams points to a brick in memory of his brother, Ron K. Beams, during the Georgetown Optimist Club’s 60th anniversary celebration May 15 that included dedication of this brick walkway. The area contains bricks in honor of and in memory of Georgetown residents. There are bricks honoring Georgetown’s most notable native sons, Supreme Court Justice Sherman Minton and R. Carlyle Buley, who was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for his work in history. Photo by Stephanie Taylor Ferriell
