Restoration team to work at Rose Hill
The Harrison County Cemetery Restoration team will work at Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth on Saturday starting at 8 a.m.
This is an all-volunteer group that works to preserve history one stone at a time.
Rose Hill is the second largest cemetery in Harrison County, and Mary Eve, a member of the team, said there is plenty of work to do, such as cleaning, leveling, repairing and restacking gravestones.
“Come join us for a bit of time or stay the full time and lend a hand or just watch and learn how to properly clean gravestones,” Eve said. “If working with us, please wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed toe shoes. We’ll have cool drinks on hand.”
The cemetery is located just west of the four-way in Elizabeth.
