The Harrison County Native Habitat Alliance hosted a spring 2021 weed wrangle at Hayswood Nature Reserve near Corydon on March 20. Ten volunteers attended and picked a total of 52.1 pounds of invasive garlic mustard.

Garlic mustard is an invasive threat to forest ecosystems as it displaces native plants. It also is poisonous to some butterfly larvae that feed on the plant.

The Harrison County Native Habitat Alliance’s mission is to conserve the habitats of Harrison County by educating the community on impacts of invasive species.

The group meets on the fourth Monday of each month via Zoom or at the Purdue Extension office.
